Jo SuthersJo graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2006 and has since completed both an internship and a residency in equine surgery at the University of Liverpool’s equine hospital.

During her residency she was awarded an MPhil for her research on survival following colic surgery and on risk factors for large colon torsion. Following her residency Jo spent a period as a surgeon at Helsingborg in south Sweden before returning to B&W Equine Vets in 2014.

Jo holds the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons RCVS certificate in Equine Surgery, is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and a European and RCVS recognised specialist in Equine Surgery. A reviewer for Equine Veterinary Education and the EVJ, Jo is also on the EVJ Statistical Advisory Board.

She is an honorary lecturer for the University of Liverpool and is involved with teaching the RCVS post-graduate certificates.

Jo has an interest in all aspects of equine orthopaedics, including surgery, lameness investigation, imaging and sports horse injuries, and also has a keen interest in emergency surgery.
